Welcome to Alta High School!

To enroll a student at Alta High School, please follow the necessary steps to make the process as smooth as possible.  Choose from one of the five options below that best fits your situation.

​If you are unable to scan and upload required documents to the application, please bring to Alta Counseling Center or email to [email protected]

New Students enrolling for current school year

1.     STUDENTS NEW TO CANYONS DISTRICT ENROLLING FOR CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR
  • If you are not in Alta boundaries, complete Permit here https://permits.canyonsdistrict.org/permits Please do not withdraw from your current school until you receive the email stating that your permit has been approved. 
  • Once permit has been approved, complete the enrollment application here  https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/planning-enrollment/new-student/ Be sure to enter your LEGAL NAME as shown on your birth certificate. 
  • You must be withdrawn from your current school and submit your withdraw form to us in order for us to process your enrollment application.  If you are unable to upload this form to your application, you can submit it by emailing [email protected].  Failure to supply us with the withdraw form could result in attending the quarter for no credit and needing to reschedule your appointment.
  • Once the enrollment application has been approved, you will receive an email from the Registrar with further instructions.
  • Download the appropriate course card for class selections here https://altahscounseling.weebly.com/scheduling.html 
  • If applicable, we will match your withdraw courses as closely as possible. 

you must supply us with the following required documents:
  • Withdraw form from your current school (upload to application on same page as birth certificate)
  • Immunization Records (upload to application - see right for Utah requirements)
  • Birth Certificate (upload to application- be sure it is a clear, legible copy)
  • Unofficial Transcripts or Report card (upload to application)
  • Copy of IEP or 504 if applicable
 
2.     STUDENTS ALREADY ATTENDING A CANYONS DISTRICT SCHOOL WANTING TO ENROLL WITH ALTA HIGH. 
  • If you are not in Alta boundaries, complete Permit here: https://permits.canyonsdistrict.org Please do not complete the next steps until you receive the email stating that your permit has been approved.
  • Contact Kelly in Alta Attendance at 801-826-5611
  • Let your current CSD school know you will be attending Alta High so they can withdraw your student.  Supply us with your withdraw form by emailing [email protected].  Failure to supply us with the withdraw form could result in attending the quarter for no credit and needing to reschedule your appointment.
  • Complete the Online Registration once you’ve been enrolled, using your Parent Skyward login here https://student.canyonsdistrict.org/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=wsEAplus/fwemnu01.w
  • Call for an appointment with your counselor at 801-826-5620 to create a schedule.  The above steps must be completed before making the appointment.
  • Download the appropriate course card for class selections here https://altahscounseling.weebly.com/scheduling.html We will match your withdraw courses as closely as possible.

New Students enrolling for next school year

3.     STUDENTS ALREADY ATTENDING A CANYONS DISTRICT SCHOOL WANTING TO ENROLL WITH ALTA HIGH FOR UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR BEFORE MAY 24·      
  • If you are not in Alta boundaries, complete Permit here https://permits.canyonsdistrict.org Please do not complete the next step until you receive the email stating that your permit has been approved. 
  • ​Let your current CSD school know you will be attending Alta High so they can update Skyward and forward your Cumulative file to us at the end of the school year

  • Choose 8 credits worth of courses.  Bring to Alta Counseling Center, or email to [email protected] before March 31. SUBMITTING THE COURSE CARD DOES NOT ENROLL YOUR STUDENT.  PLEASE COMPLETE BULLETS ABOVE AS NEEDED.
  • Complete the Online Registration the beginning of August, using your Parent Skyward login https://student.canyonsdistrict.org/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=wsEAplus/fwemnu01.w
  • Download the appropriate course card here https://altahscounseling.weebly.com/scheduling.html and return within the week to Alta Counseling Center or email to [email protected].

4.     STUDENTS NEW TO CANYONS DISTRICT ENROLLING WITH ALTA HIGH FOR UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR BEFORE MAY 24.       
  • If you are not in Alta boundaries, Complete Permit here https://permits.canyonsdistrict.org Please do not complete the next steps until you receive the email stating that your permit has been approved. 
  • Complete the enrollment application here  https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/planning-enrollment/new-student/ Be sure to enter your LEGAL NAME as shown on your birth certificate.

5.     NEW STUDENTS ENROLLING BETWEEN MAY 24 AND AUGUST 18 FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.·      
  • If you are not in Alta boundaries, Complete Permit here https://permits.canyonsdistrict.org Please do not complete the next steps until you receive the email stating that your permit has been approved. 
  • ​If you are new to Canyons District, complete the enrollment application here  https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/planning-enrollment/new-student/ Be sure to enter your LEGAL NAME as shown on your birth certificate.
