Criteria: This is a need-based and merit-based scholarship for a Utah Resident with a minimum
high school GPA of 3.2. The applicant must be Pell Grant eligible. Apply for admission
to the University of Utah and fill out the free FAFSA form by February 1.
Amount: Full tuition and Fees. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as the
recipient attends full time for eight semesters and maintains at least a 3.0 GPA.

Criteria: Applicant must be a senior in high school who will be attending the University of Utah

Criteria: Many Grants are available to incoming freshmen students. All students must be accepted to BYU-Idaho before a Grant Application may be filled out and submitted.
The Thomas E. Ricks Grant is based on financial need and/or merit. An application and the FAFSA application are necessary. An Internship Grant is also available.

Criteria: There are talent grants in Art, Dance, Journalism, Music, and Theater. Check with each department for the application process and the deadlines. Criteria: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen on track for high school graduation. Applicant must be interested in pursuing a teaching or related educational career. ENGINEER GIRL WRITING CONTEST
Criteria: The Contest is open to all students in grades three to twelve. The student will submit a story in 700 words or less that answers, “How will engineering help humanity meet Sustainable Development Goals?” The answer needs to meet the requirements listed on the website and be submitted online. All winning essays will be published on the website.

AL NEUHARTH FREE SPIRIT AWARDS
Criteria: Applicant must be a high school junior graduating in the spring/summer semester of 2023 and must be planning to pursue a career in journalism. Applicant must demonstrate the qualities of a “free spirit” and must complete the online registration and print out the completed application form. The applicant, their parent/guardian, and a school official must sign the completed application form. A 4x6 headshot photo must accompany each application, two essays, a sealed letter of recommendation, an official high school transcript and at least one published or broadcast sample of his/her work related to journalism. To receive this scholarship, students must be available for the entire Journalism Conference scheduled virtually for June 20, 2022.

OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Applicants must complete the Utah Scholars Core Course of Study during grades 9-12. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have no criminal record except misdemeanor traffic citations. A current FAFSA application must be completed. The class of 2022 applicants may qualify for the opportunity scholarship through a regents’ track by completing the requirements previously set for the regent’s scholarship or the advanced course track by meeting the new opportunity course guidelines. For students in the class of 2023 and all future classes the Opportunity Scholarship can only be earned by completing the advanced course track. No exceptions will be made.

Criteria: Southern Utah University Overnight allows high school students to experience life at SUU. ELKS FOUNDATION LEGACY AWARD
Criteria: Applicant must be a high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Applicant must be a child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2019 or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after that date. The elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2022. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. Applications will be judged on knowledge, charity, community and integrity. Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend BYU. Applicant must enroll as a geology, environmental geology, earth and space science education, or engineering geology major. Applicant must continue in one of these majors according to a progressive program and maintain at least a 3.3 GPA. Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from teachers concerning academic qualifications. Criteria: Applicant must be 18 or younger as of the application deadline and be a U.S. citizen.

Criteria: Applicant must apply to USU and declare one of the Jon M. Huntsman School of
Business Majors. Applicant must meet one or more of the following criteria. For direct
admission to the huntsman school of business and an award of 500.00 the applicant must choose one of the 7 majors and meet one of the following criteria: be in the top ten percent of their graduating class or have a minimum 3.7 GPA or have a 28 ACT score or a 1310 SAT score or a 3.5 minimum GPA and 24 ACT/1160 SAT score. Criteria: Applicant must have outstanding communication skills and have the ability to understand and relate to diverse groups of people. Ambassadors must be willing to plan and participate in special events, open houses, service projects, school tours and other activities as needed. Applicant must submit an application online, a one-page cover letter indicating their qualifications and telling why they want to be an ambassador, a one-page resume of their skills, activity involvement, and leadership experience, and a 3-5-minute video introducing the applicant in a creative way. To be considered the applicant must have three professional references that can give a character driven recommendation and must be admitted to Dixie State College. background in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Participation in extracurricular
activities and leadership will also be considered in the selection process. Applicant must
be accepted to the University of Utah and major in Mining Engineering and follow the

CHRISTOPHERS’ POSTER CONTEST
Criteria: Contest is for students in grades 9 through 12. Posters must interpret and must include the theme “You Can Make a Difference” and must illustrate the idea that you can make a difference. Each poster must be the work of one student.

ZION’S PAYS FOR A’S COMMUNITY DRAWING
Criteria: Student must go into any Zions Bank Branch and show their most current report card with at least one “A” grade to the bank representative. Criteria: Applicant must have outstanding communication skills and have the ability to understand and relate to diverse groups of people. Ambassadors must be willing to plan and participate in special events, open houses, service projects, school tours and other activities as needed. Applicant must submit an application online, a one-page cover letter indicating their qualifications and telling why they want to be an ambassador, a one-page resume of their skills, activity involvement, and leadership experience, and a 3-5-minute video introducing the applicant in a creative way. To be considered the applicant must have three professional references that can give a character driven recommendation and must be admitted to Dixie State College. All applications must be complete to be considered.

ZION’S PAYS FOR A’S COMMUNITY DRAWING
Criteria: Student must go into any Zions Bank Branch and show their most current report card with at least one “A” grade to the bank representative. The bank will deposit $1.00 per “A” into the student’s Zion’s Bank Young Savers Account. If the student doesn’t have a savings account, the student will be paid .50 per “A”. The student will be entered into a regional drawing for a $500.00 scholarship savings account. There will be regional prize drawings in March from the first semester report cards and in September for the second semester report cards. Eligible entries from all regional drawings will be combined for a state grand prize drawing of $1,000.00 to be held in October.
